Account Deletion

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This page explains how to delete your bölüştür account, what happens when you do, and how to request deletion if you no longer have access to the app.

1. Deleting from the app

You can delete your account from inside the app:

  1. Open the app
  2. Go to the Profile screen from the bottom navigation
  3. Tap Delete account in the Account section
  4. Read the warning and confirm

It takes effect the moment you confirm and cannot be undone. An open balance does not block it.

2. What happens when you delete

What is deleted:

Your name, email address, IBAN, account holder name and preferences are erased. Other users will see "Silinen kullanıcı" (deleted user) in place of your name.

What is not deleted:

Expense records, splits and settlements are not deleted.

We say this plainly because promising complete deletion would be inaccurate. The reason is that these records are not only yours. Deleting an expense would corrupt the balances of everyone who shared it — their own financial record would become wrong. The records therefore remain in place, stripped of your identity.

This is a deliberate limitation on your right to erasure, applied to protect the rights of others.

3. Requesting deletion without the app

If you have uninstalled the app, no longer have your phone, or cannot sign in, you can request deletion by email.

Write to contact@bolustur.app from the email address your account is registered to, and say that you want your account deleted. The request has to come from that address, because that is how we verify it is yours.

We respond within 30 days at the latest, and your account is deleted within the same period. The scope of the deletion is the same as in section 2 above.
